Funding awarded for the second time from the Government of Canada

Tel-Array Diagnostics Inc. was awarded up to $350,000 in funding from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) for the pre-commercialization of its smartphone-integrated biomarker sensor system. This is the second round of funding Tel-Array has received from NRC-IRAP; the first being in 2015 in the amount of $483,500 for the development of this biosensor technology platform proof of concept. Over the past two years, Tel-Array has made significant progress in its technology development and is now ready to embark on pre-commercialization efforts to bring the biomarker sensor system to market in 2018.

Meeting with Dr. Max Cynader

Tel-Array co-founders and management had a fruitful meeting with Scientific Advisory Board member, Dr. Max Cynader to discuss the future of the company's technology and products.

Dr. Cynader is a prominent member of the scientific community and is the Founding Director of the Brain Research Centre, and the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health at Vancouver Coastal Health and University of British Columbia (UBC). In addition, he holds the Canada Research Chair in Brain Development and is Professor of Ophthalmology at UBC. Dr. Cynader is also a Member of the Order of Canada (CM), Member of the Order of British Columbia (OBC), Principal Investigator in Canada's Network of Excellence in Stroke, as well as recipient of many other awards and appointments. Moreover, Dr. Cynader has also been active in the industry, founding multiple companies including NeuroVir, Wavemakers Research, Primary Peptides, and Synaptitude.

Tel-Array appreciates the time and support Dr. Cynader provides to the company, and the network and industry experience Dr. Cynader brings to Tel-Array.

Zhejiang Business-to-Business Networking Seminar

Tel-Array was invited by the Ministry of International Trade, the Province of British Columbia, to attend a networking seminar and reception in Vancouver organized by the Zhejiang Department of Commerce, Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China.

Zhejiang Province, situated on China's south-east coast, is among the richest and most well-developed provinces in China. Its capital and largest city, Hangzhou, is a political, economical and cultural centre of the province, and is known for its high living standards, well-developed infrastructure and rapid economic development in a variety of sectors.

Zhejiang Department of Commerce brought a business delegation of 18 companies in the ICT, tourism, agri-food, innovation science, life sciences, and environmental renewables sectors, all searching for business collaboration opportunities with BC companies in trade and investment, to this seminar.

The event was an excellent opportunity for Tel-Array to network with Zhejiang businesses and obtain first-hand insights about the Chinese market.

Visit by the International Trade and Investment Office - Europe

In April, Tel-Array met with Laetitia MacDougall, the Trade and Investment Representative from the UK, during her visit to British Columbia. Her role is to identify pathways for trade or investment from the UK market and Tel-Array had a productive conversation with her regarding the company's goals for Europe. 

Tel-Array thanks Laetitia for her time and look forward to continue fostering the relationship and exploring potential opportunities in the UK and Europe. Tel-Array also thanks Salima Jethani from the Ministry of International Trade for facilitating the meeting.

Collaborative Research Agreement with UBC
